Case description

This material demonstrates a complete laparoscopic resection of tension-free vaginal tape. Retropubic slings have been widely adopted for treatment of stress urinary incontinence resulting in a simple and high success rate technique. These anti incontinence procedures are minimally invasive but are still result in bothersome complications that lead to a complete resection in certain cases. In this video we can see a case report about 66-years old woman with mixed urinary incontinence and recurrent urinary tract infections 3 years after TVT placement for stress urinary incontinence. Cystoscopic examination revealed a large and isolated left bladder wall mesh erosion. A first attempt, unsuccessfull, was to try to remove the tape endoscopically. The surgical decision for transperitoneal laparoscopic complete tape resection was taken.
