Case description

After the implementation of complex urological reconstructive procedures, kidney transplantation in patients with no functioning urinary bladder has become possible. However, patients with anatomical and/or functional dysfunction of the lower urinary tract (LUT) are a challenge for the renal transplant surgeons. In patients with LUT, the native bladder may be suitable for transplantation, otherwise intestinal reconstruction or diversion may be required.
