Uniportal VATS Right Carinal Sleeve Pneumonectomy After Induction in a Patient With Previous Empyema

Case description

This video shows a very complex case. A complex tumor located in right upper lobe and bronchus intermedius extending into carina was performed by uniportal VATS requiring a right carinal sleeve pneumonectomy. The patient received induction treatment with chemotherapy and inmunotherapy and had a previous empyema years ago. The lung was completely stucked everywhere specially to appex. The lung was removed and the carinal resection was performed using jet ventilation. The postoperative course of the patient was uneventful with excellent recovery. No signs of recurrence were found months after during follow up.
