Case description
Gastric cancer is the fifth most commonly diagnosed and third most fatal cancer. Annually 1 000 000 new cases and 740 000 deaths are reported. It predominantly occurs in males in their 6th to 8th decade of life. Surgery is the only known way to cure the patient. In this video the case of a gastric cancer surgery is presented. The tumor is located in the upper third of the stomach. Because of low stage (T2N0M0) the proximal subtotal gastrectomy was performed instead of radical procedure.
