Case description

A 70-year-old male patient with obstructive jaundice, weight loss, and severe anemia, presented with a lesion in the duodenal papilla during endoscopic studies. A biopsy was performed, and a plastic stent was placed. The patient was scheduled for a WHIPPLE procedure. A cephalic duodenopancreatectomy with antrectomy and end-to-side hepaticojejunostomy, end-to-side pancreaticojejunostomy (Cattle-Warren), and Child-type reconstruction with antecolic side-to-end enterogastric anastomosis plus two (2) sutures were performed.
