Case description

Ulcers located below the vocal folds (from 3 to 9 o'clock position) which are covered by yellowish mucopus are presented - they suggest infection of subglottic region. We can also observe Myer-Cotton grade 3 stenosis of lower cricoid area and upper tracheal narrowing. The endotracheal tube below the affected segment is visible. The patient had underwent a prolonged intubation before. The treatment consisted of antibiotics and proton-pump inhibitor. After the episode of inflammation and infection, the insertion of Montgomery T-tube was performed.
