Case description

Dense scar tissue was a cause of a complete upper tracheal obstruction. Hard consistency was found by use of gentle probing. Vertical lenght and the lower limit of stenosis would be delineated by imaging study. Early performed tracheostomy allowed to save the airway. The ideal surgical solution for short segment stenosis is resection and re-anastomosis of the joining ends. If there is a necessity of tension reduction, the muscle relase should be performed.
