Case description

Some ear infections can last a long time and cause significant hearing loss. The fluid build up in the middle ear blocks the transfer of sound waves. This patient required ear drainage since the middle ear fluid would not resolve spontaneously. The consistency of the fluid in this patient was particularly thick. A great illustration of mucoid otitis media.
