Examination Of S1 Nerve Root - Everything You Need To Know
Case description
Examination of the S1 nerve root include three parts - sensory, motor and reflexes. On sensory examination you examine the lateral side of the foot. Examination of reflexes include Achilles tendon reflex. The motor examination include checking on muscles innervated by S1 - the peroneal longus and brevis, flexor haluccis longus, the gastrocnemius, biceps femoris and gluteus maximus.
