Case description

Dr. Corenman recently created this video to provide an explanation of microdiscectomy for lumbar disc herniation, low back pain and leg pain.

The microdiscectomy procedure is designed for a herniated disc in the lumbar spine. The microdiscetomy is the simplest and most satisfying lumbar spinal surgery there is. This video explains the anatomy and the technique of this procedure where the compressed nerve is released from the herniated disc or bone spur. A microdiscectomy is typically recommended for patients who have experienced leg pain for at least six weeks and who have not found sufficient pain relief with conservative treatment (such as oral steroids, NSAIDs, and physical therapy).
