Case description
The movie shows the anterior discetomy. Portion of this surgery was performed by Dr. Peter Newton. Dr. Newton is a member of the Harms Study Group which is a collaborative cohort of worldwide distinguished surgeons who perform comprehensive, multi-center prospective research studies and share the results to advance processes and procedures of spinal deformity correction. The reason to perform this OP was adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). The movie contains detailed description of steps taken during procedure. In this part we can see preoperative X-rays and anterior discectomy, which was performed thoracoscopically. In the second part of the movie we will be able to see posterior spinal instrumentation and fusion and also postoperative X-rays.
