Case description

Film presents an Arthroscopic Bankart Repair. Nowadays it is a procedure of choice for recurrent shoulder instability. Reattachment and tightening of the torn anteroinferior glenoid labrum and ligaments of the shoulder. The anatomy of the shoulder makes it inherently unstable. Due to the picture shown in the video, it can be seen that shoulder joint is rather shallow. However, there is a list of factors that keeps it from dislocating like: rotator cuff, scapular positioning, ligaments, adhesion/cohesion, suction cup effect of labrum, vacuum effect of capsule. 90% injuries with dislocation are anterior. How are they treated? The purpose of this material is to educate the viewer on this topic and explain the surgery itself. The author of this video is Dr Clayton Lane.
