Case description

Meniscus is positioned between femur and tibia. Each knee has 2 menisci. 50% of our body weight is transmitted through them when standing. The video contains schemes that help to understand how the force is transmitted and what role meniscus have in our life. The photos presented the anatomy and blood circulation which is very important as repair of the tear is concerned. Meniscus tears are extremely common in the younger athletic population and present in up to 60% of people who are over 65 years of age. No two meniscus tears are the same. However the main complaint is the pain on the side with deep knee flexion. This video describes the basic types of meniscus tears with arthroscopic videos of how they are treated. Presented by dr Clayton Lane.
