Choriocarcinoma is a disease which occurs only to women. This is a one of the two rarest forms of cancer and very few women contract this disease. The disease starts at the time of pregnancy, at the time when trophoblastic cells which forms the placenta starts to grow in order to enclose the foetus and provide it nutrition. Trophoblastic cells from placenta and these cells are is what is affected by the disease.

This type of cancer occurs when hydatidifrom mole which remains in the uterus after delivering the baby starts to grow. The same can be the case with abortion. The main problem associated with this type of cancer is that it can spread to other organs from the uterus. Detection of this type of cancer associated with uterus is not very easy. Most cases respond to chemotherapy.Sometimes surgery is needed.
