Case description

The Young Physician Leaders programme was launched in 2011 by the InterAcademy Partnership in conjunction with the World Health Summit and the M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centres and Medical Universities. Since then it has strived to identify and train physicians under the age of 40 to equip them with the skills they will require to navigate their professional future. To date, the YPL network of alumni includes more than 220 leading young professionals, who were nominated by their national academies. Given the difficulties involved with the pandemic, this year’s session will be presented by members of the YPL Alumni Steering Committee who will address the topic of “Creating impact through young physician leadership: areas of action” During this session participants convey some of the insights they have gathered over the last year with regard to the training and experiences in their respective countries.
