Case description

This video demonstrates the successful accomplishment of single incision laparoscopic appendectomy by an innovative suture loop (Saad’s loop) technique in a 22 years old male suffering from uncomplicated acute appendicitis. This suture loop serves to hold the appendix during surgery and is created very simply by percutaenously entering and exiting a straight polypropylene suture needle through the peritoneal cavity thus eliminating the need for grasper. The technique is simple and cost effective.
