Case description

A 28 year old emaciated lady presented with a large infected hydatid cyst of right lobe of liver and sepsis. Ultrasound and C.T. Pictures are shown in the video. I.V. antibiotics were given. Dehydration and electrolyte imbalance were corrected. She had already received albendazole of 15mg/kg body weight, earlier for 2 weeks. She was taken up for surgery under general anaesthesia. Laparoscopic excision of hydatid cyst was done. A drain was kept and removed on 8th day after the drainage was significantly low, about 30 ml / day. Post operative antibiotics were continued for a week, and albendazole for 2 weeks.
