Case description

The laparoscopic hepatectomy procedure, is a minimally invasive liver surgery with many benefits such as positive early postoperative outcome and possibly a better result over the long term. We present the case of a patient who underwent successful laparoscopic left hepatectomy and dissection of lymph nodes for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma in the left lateral segment of the liver at 3-rd Surgery Clinic Cluj Napoca, Romania. The patient had intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma with no distant lymph node metastasis. The operation time was 195 min, and the total blood loss was only 300 ml. A left l hepatectomy and complete lymph node dissection around the hepatoduodenal ligament and celiac trunk was performed. The postoperative outcome was uneventful and the patient was discharged in the 5-th postoperative day.
