Case description

The hard rock of endodontics stands for obliteration in endodontics. Totally or partially obliterated canals present a constant challenge in clinical endodontics. Negotiating obliterated canals could range from difficult to nearly impossible. The risk of perforating is high, as is the risk of instrument separation. However, under magnification provided by a dental operating microscope the whole procedure of dealing with obliterated canals can become very predictable. Complete root canal space obliteration associated with apical periodontitis is relatively rare. If a periapical lesion exist, there must be a space inside the root canal system for bacteria. Safe negotiation of this space is crucial. CBCT imaging could provide great help in the treatment  planning of such challenging cases.
The aim of this new educational video is to provide tips and hints for the endodontic management of highly obliterated canals under the microscope. Patience, Passion and Persistence is all you need for moving the Rocky mountains of Endodontics.
