Case description

The prevalence of the rheumatic fever was substantially decreased by the use of antibiotics. One of its complications is a rheumatic heart disease leading to mitral valve stenosis, heart failure and necessity of mitral valve replacement. In this video a case of 68 year old patient with rheumatic heart disease and severe right ventricular failure is presented. The patient underwent a transthoracic echo which revealed moderate mitral stenosis and regurgitation along with severe tricuspid regurgitation and pulmonary hypertension.
