Case description

The following video shows a radical nerve sparing retropubic prostatectomy. Radical prostatectomy is an accepted treatment option for patients with organ-confined prostate cancer and a life expectancy of >10 yr who accept the related complications. The associated morbidity has decreased dramatically over the last decade as a result of improvements in the surgical technique. One such factor is nerve-sparing surgery, which has a significant positive impact on sexual and lower urinary tract function and has become the gold standard when radical tumor resection is not compromised.
