Case description

This video shows a left lower lobe dorsal anatomic segmentectomy in patient with congenital cyst adenomatoid malformation. The patient suffered from recurrent infections since the childhood. The CT scan showed a congenital mass on the segment 6 of left lower lobe. A 3 cm incision was performed at the level of 5th intercostal space on the left side. The lung was totally attached to the aorta and posterior mediastinum and was released by the use of energy devices. A mass was palpated on the segment 6 of the left lower lobe with partial involvement of the posterior segment of LUL, so an anatomic dorsal segmentectomy of LLL and partial wedge of segment 2 was performed to remove the entire lesion. The postoperative course was uneventful
