Case description

Here we show a video of a big right lower lobe lung cancer with chest wall involvement. The case was treated with induction therapy (chemotherapy) followed by surgery. The patient was operated by uniportal VATS approach and once the lobectomy was perforned a posterior incision was made to resect three ribs and adjacent muscles and soft tissue. The posterior hole was protected by using a mesh. The patient was discharged home on the 5th postoperative day with excellent functional recovery and no pain. The final pathology analysis revealed a 9 cm squamous cell carcinoma with chest wall involvement,(ribs, muscle and soft tissue) but with oncologic safety margins.
