Case description

Renal cell carcinoma represents approximately 2-3% of malignant neoplasms and predominantly occurs in males between 6th and 7th decade of life. The most common histological type of renal cell carcinoma is clear cell carcinoma which is diagnosed in 70-80% of cases. The decision about the way of treatment is based on the level of the tumor expansion. In cases of highly advanced tumors, radical nepherctomy is the treatment of choice. This video presents the laparoscopic left nephrectomy, performed as a treatment of a renal cell carcinoma. The additional difficulty was a substantial patient's obesity.
