Case description

In this video we can see the technique of foreign body (fish bone) removal which is partially embedded in the right tonsillar tissue. To minimize gagging, the throat was initially sprayed with topical lignocaine. While the surgeon holds the endoscope with one hand and the other holding a suitable forceps (Kaluskar forceps in this case) the patient was instructed to hold the protruded tongue himself. The forceps are introduced into the oropharynx and directed to the identified foreign body as the patient says "eeee" steadily. The pronged of the forceps then slowly closed once the object confirmed in between and gently pulled out along the direction of the long axis of the foreign body.
