Case description

In this video we can see pooling of saliva in the hypopharynx in a patient with a multiple cranial nerve palsies, caused by a skull base osteomyelitis. The presenting symptoms are choking, coughing and a hoarse voice. A vocal cord palsy, asymmetry of soft palate and a tongue deviation to the right (which corresponds to lower motor neurone paralyse of vagus, glossopharyngeal, and hypogossal nerve) can be seen.
