Case description

Oral papillomas are benign neoplasms derived from squamous epithelium, which can be found in any part of the oral cavity, although the soft palate, uvula and consular regions are the most common. The lesion can be broad-based or pedunculated and often, but not always has a cauliflower like appearance. Note the benign papilloma arising from the posterior pillar of the left soft palate.
