Case description

The mucosa of the nasal septum may become ulcerated, most commonly from repeated local trauma [usually fingerpicking]. The result is a localized ulceration of the mucosal surface which may ultimately spread to involve the underlying perichondrium resulting in a perforation through the nasal septum.
