Case description
In some patients, the middle turbinate may develop a large internal air cell, which expands the turbinate laterally. This is referred to as a Concha Bullosa. This enlarged middle turbinate may cause significant airway obstruction. This photograph shows a large concha bullosa of the right middle turbinate, which is causing significant obstruction to nasal airflow.
