Case description

What are the most common types of distal radius fractures? The most common type is Colles' fracture, a fracture of the distal radius with characteristic backward displacement of the hand. It is a low-energy fracture, extra-articular with dorsal displacement of the distal fragment. It usually occurs in patients above the age of 50 years when they attempt to break a fall with an outstretched hand.
