Case description

Orthopedic Knee Surgeon, Dr. Robert F. LaPrade of the Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO, demonstrates a procedure called a Dial Test. During this exam, the patient lies face down and is performed at both 30° and 90° knee flexion. External force is applied so that external rotation can be evaluated. This knee exam is used to detect posterolateral instability, as well as multi-ligament injuries.
