Hamstring Autograft Technique for ACL Reconstruction Surgery
Case description
At MedStar Union Memorial hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, Richard Hinton, MD, MPH, PT, demonstrates a five-strand hamstring ACL reconstruction technique. Dr Hinton has developed this new graft preparation technique, in which he takes a standard hamstring autograft and augments it with an additional strand from the hamstring tendon. This technique was developed to provide additional strength and volume to a hamstring ACL reconstruction.
