Case description

Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) is a surgery performed in patients with advanced coronary artery disease to bypass the obstructed vessels and provide appropriate blood supply for the heart. The choice of vessels for grafting is highly dependent upon particular surgeon or institution, however the great saphenous vein or radial vain are typically harvested. In the following operative video, dr Luis Dibos presents a case of a 53 year old male with triple vessel coronary artery disease who was referred for elective coronary artery bypass grafting. Patient suffers from diabetes mellitus and foot and toe infection, which prevents from classical vein harvesting. Therefore, the saphenous vein is harvested by the endoscopic method what leaves only a small wound of the leg after the procedure.
