Case description

Dr. Timothy McHenry with the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas and the Southeastern Neurosurgical and Spine Institute walks us through the physical examination of the cervical spine. Cervical spine egzamination consists of few parts. Firstly we take a glance of alignment, if shoulders are on the same level, if there is a correct lordosis of cervical spine. Than a pain feeling, tenderness and range of motion of the neck is checked. Secondly some functional testing takes place. After that the doctor does motor testing like wrist or elbow extension. Specific movements and their pathology, feeling and reflexes can give us information eventual pathology of exact cervical nerves.
