CATALYS: Beautiful Bubbles
Case description
This case is of a 37 year old man with a PSC cataract. During the lens softening and fragmentation by the OptiMedica Catalys femtosecond laser system, the gas bubbles formed are trapped within the soft lenticular material. Once in the OR, a beautiful 3D array of gas bubbles are evident in the lens. The toric lens alignment is confirmed with a Mastel Keratoscope. Two hours postoperatively, the patient was 20/20 distance uncorrected and very pleased. Video by Jason Jones
