Case description

These are benign tumors arise from the nerve sheath and grow slowly and press on nerve roots and spinal cord and cause weakness in hands and legs. They are due to chromosomal aberrations. The condition is called NEUROFIBROMATOSIS - VON RECKLING HAUSANS DISEASE - where whole body nerve sheaths could be affected. CT SCAN/MRI SCANS are diagnostic. Treatment is surgical removal when done completely cure is permanent as is done on this case.
