Case description

Ohana One is pleased to announce our first annual report, representing a snapshot of 2020’s progress, results, and outcomes. This report would not have been possible without you, our supporters. Ohana One’s mission is to cultivate surgical training programs in developing areas around the world and we do so in collaboration with like-minded organizations. Our work is not limited to single mission trips, but to establishing long-term sustainable surgical training programs utilizing mentorship relationships and advanced technology. In doing so, we work alongside surgical providers to help them take on increasingly more complex cases with the goal of elevating and expanding safe surgical care. You can see this mission come to life on the pages of the annual report, and I hope our progress is as exciting to you as it is to all of us. The reality of 2020 led us in directions we did not anticipate, but Ohana One being a young and agile Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), was able to pivot and focus our resources on the emerging needs of the global medical community. The Ohana One Surgical Sight Mentor/Mentee Smart Glasses Program grew rapidly the last 12 months, onboarding 48 surgical teams that are conducting remote trainings with VUZIX glasses and Help Lightning software. Of these training calls, docs have logged over 835 calls made between mentor and mentee surgeons. Mentor surgeons have donated over $18,000 worth of their time and expertise to the program. I invite you to learn more about this and other milestones in the annual report. It has been my pleasure to support and lead an amazing team of staff, surgeons and interns to accomplish all that we have. I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge a few individuals who brought this annual report to life: Rachel Buigas-Lopez - Design, Key Pearson - Intern, Jadie Delgado and Maggie Bohlman - Marketing. If after reviewing the annual report you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. If you would like to download the PDF version you may do so here, and if you would like to request a print copy to be mailed to you, please click here. I hope this annual report will also inspire you to support Ohana One’s work to close the surgical which you can do through the website.
