Case description

5mm suprapubic trocars in the groin region are common practices in gynecology. The trajectory of these trocars often travels through the inguinal canal. Despite the possible aesthetic advantage, we may hypothesize an underrated responsibility of this practice in female groin pain difficult to diagnose. Multi-investigated chronic groin pain with US confirmed possible hernia was the pre-op diagnosis, bilateral 5mm trocar site hernias were found on the anterior wall of the inguinal canal with incrusted lipoma. Trocart site hernia of previous gynecological laparoscopy should be considered in case of unclear female groin pain.
