Case description

40-year-old male patient

super-super obese, BMI over 70kg/m2 (220 kg)

with a liver abscess in segments 7/8 (8-9 cm).

5 months ago he was treated for choledocholithiasis (ERCP+plastic stent)

. 3 weeks ago he was readmitted and treated conservatively for cholecystitis
(ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin, and meropenem)

repeat ERCP excluded choledocholithiasis and the symptoms subsided


The patient was scheduled for emergency laparoscopy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy
and abscess drainage.
