Welcome to the official website of the 34th international congress of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES) that will be held in Athens, Greece from Tuesday 23 June through Friday 26 June 2026, in corporation with the Hellenic Society of Endoscopic Surgery (HAES).

Congress theme: From Hippocrates to modern surgical innovation.

In 2025, Serbia hosted the 33rd edition of the international EAES congress, held between the 17th and 20th of June at the SAVA Centar in Belgrade, being under the theme “Energy!”, the event highlighted the future of minimally invasive surgery through advanced technologies, sustainability, and international collaboration.

With more than 1200 participants from 74 countries, the congress proved to be one of the most dynamic and engaging in recent EAES history. A total of 1204 registered attendees, 211 faculty members and 38 industry partners supported 73 scientific sessions, 4 masterclasses, 3 workshops, and 6 hands-on courses.

The opening day featured pre-congress activities, including practical examinations for minimally invasive and robotic surgery, together with technology-focused symposia. Notably, the event marked the world premiere of the EBSQ examination in Robotic Surgery, a pivotal step towards standardising robotic surgical competencies across Europe.

The scientific programme showcased a wide range of high-quality presentations, covering topics from emergency surgery to advanced laparoscopic techniques, innovative imaging, and rare minimally invasive procedures. Sessions on surgical energy, ultrasound applications, and enhanced imaging reflected the latest trends in both technology and surgical education.

Hands-on courses provided participants with practical training in ultrasound, trauma management, and guided interventions. Educational initiatives, including specialist academies and talent programmes, emphasised the integration of AI, sustainability, and collaborative research in surgical practice.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Congress President Prof. Miloš Bjelovic and Congress General Secretary Assoc. Prof. Srdjan Mijatovic for their exceptional leadership and commitment. Their vision, meticulous organisation, and tireless dedication were instrumental in making this year’s congress a resounding success.

The congress was not only a hub for scientific exchange but also a celebration of professional connections. Social events brought together surgeons from around the world, fostering collaboration and a shared commitment to advancing minimally invasive surgery.

Overall, the event reaffirmed the international surgical community’s dedication to innovation, education, and global cooperation, setting the stage for continued progress in minimally invasive techniques.
