Case description

Frostbite is an extensive soft-tissue injury caused by exposure to temperatures below freezing. Frostbite occurs more often in males. The body protects itself from cold through thermoregulation. The body tries to maintain a core body temperature, so during extreme cold, the body receives a signal from sensory receptors. For example, these receptors are present in the hands and feet, and the signal travels to the brain.
