Left atrial closure with a device is a procedure used to treat certain heart conditions, particularly atrial fibrillation (AFib) and to prevent stroke. It involves implanting a device, such as a left atrial appendage closure device, to seal off the left atrial appendage. This helps to reduce the risk of blood clots forming in the left atrial appendage and potentially causing a stroke.
