Case description

Esophageal cancer is a common type of neoplasm. It predominantly occurs between 6th and 7th decade of life. The histological type of the tumor often depends on the place of the esophagus. The basocelullar cancer is most frequent in the middle of the esophagus, while adenocarcinoma is predominant in the lower part.

The film shows the case of a patient with advanced (T4MIA) cancer infiltrating the lower third of the esophagus. During the surgery lower part of the esophagus was cut out and the gastroesophageal junction was performed. The postoperative course was uneventful.
