Case description

This video shows a part of nerve sparing robotic prostatectomy with novel use of an amnion adhesion barrier. Nerve sparing involves the sparing of delicate tissue composing the neurovascular bundle. Healing is subject to inflammation and scarring, just like any other tissue. Preventing adhesions may help reduce the scarring process. Use of an FDA approved amnion allograft can prevent adhesions. Amnion membrane also has potential to aid in the wound healing process through its inherent anti-inflammatory and multipotent properties.
