This a video showing a complete thymectomy performed by a single small incision through the subxiphoid space in a patient with myastenia gravis. No sternal retractor and no CO2 was used. Both pleural cavities where opened and the bilateral upper and lower horns of thymus were dissected and removed.
The recovery of the patient was uneventful.
