Case description

Sometimes after the extraction of an upper tooth, particularly a molar, a fistula can arise between the mouth and the maxillary sinus [oroantral fistula]. In this case, antral mucosa can be seen collapsing through the fistula producing a smooth, pink, compressible swelling protruding from the socket of the extracted tooth.
