Case description

When the ostium of one of the paranasal sinuses is occluded, the mucoperiosteal lining will continue to produce mucus which cannot escape from the sinus and will accumulate under such pressure that it may deform the bony walls of the affected sinus. The medial wall of this right maxillary sinus can be seen bulging massively into the right inferior meatus. This was the result of a large maxillary sinus mucocele.
