Case description

While the etiology of the nasal polyps is yet to be fully understood, the role of allergy is undisputed. This patient with the ASA triad has had four endo- nasal polypectomys in the past 14 months. After each polypectomy, the polyps recurred within six weeks. The reason for this rapid recurrences is suggested on this coronal CT scan. The streaky areas of increased radial opacity within the maxillary sinuses and posterior ethmoid sinuses represent fungal elements.
