Post-Laryngectomy Atrophy of the Inferior Turbinate
Case description
Following a laryngectomy, there is no longer any flow of air through the nasal cavity, and the mucosa atrophies and develops a pale purple discolouration. Note the characteristic shrunken appearance of the inferior turbinate in this patient right nasal cavity.
