Case description

A shallow circular pit or depression, which resembles a small ulcer or punched out lesion can sometimes be seen on the anterior cartilaginous nasal septum. This is known as "Jacobson's Organ", a vestigial olfactory organ that has no known function in humans. A Jacobson's organ should not be confused with a septal ulceration.
